Wolfmen Kama Sutra Demo
This week saw the hottest temperatures ever recorded in London. And the hottest nights...
So The Wolfmen demo'd a new song - Kama Sutra - to soundtrack the heatwave.
Go here to stream it from the website or here to hear it on the myspace site.
This one is very Bowie sounding, sounds like it could be from Bowie's early 70's Ziggy era.

Wolfmen Review, Interview, and Marco on Puss n Boots/ Kiss the Drummer
Review of Jackie Says EP here
Marco and Chris interviewed
here
And in my ongoing series, here we have Marco questioned about 1983's Puss n Boots and kiss the Drummer.
Me normal text, Marco italics.
Puss n Boots- the demo for this sounds like you had the song pretty much all
worked out already- what did Phil Collins add to the song apart from the drums?
He did what producers do which is make your ideas sound better.
Why did Phil only do this and Strip?
coz he was busy on the road.
How long did Puss n Boots and Strip take to record?
About 10 days
Kiss The Drummer- was this written specially for the single or was it an out-take from the album?
It was written in the studio specially for the b-side.
Why did you not do an old Ants song for this or Strip singles?
We just wanted to do something else.
Was there a 3rd single planned? (If so what song?)
No I dont think there was.
Who was Paris? Why did he do the drums/ record the b sides and not Richard Burgess?
He was the engineer and he programmed the drums, as we only knew our way round the Linn drum machine and not the oberhein they had at Polar.
Do you know who Kiss the Drummer is actually about (if anyone)?
It came out of one of Adams old lyric books, the words were written years before we wrote the song, and it's about a fantasy character no one specific, the title probably came from a line in a film, they usually do.

2 New Bow Wow Wow Interviews and New CD Compilation
Daily News Interview
I Miss the 80s Interview
New compilation album We Are the 80s released July 18th 2006.
AMG Review: Bow Wow Wow's short but brilliant career was well captured by RCA's The Best of Bow Wow Wow in 1996. It has 20 tracks by the band and two by frontwoman Annabella Lwin, and it's all the casual fan could ever need. The band's entry in the We Are the '80s series is even better for casual listeners since, with eight fewer tracks included, stripping all but the essentials makes the band's appeal even more focused. Of course "I Want Candy" is here, and so are new wave classics like "Do You Wanna Hold Me," "(I'm A) TV Savage," "See Jungle! (Jungle Boy)," and "C30,C60, C90, Go." It's a furiously paced and exhilarating collection of songs by one of the truly great new wave era groups, and while fans should really seek out a collection with more tracks (or the individual albums), this is still an excellent introduction.
This is one of a series of 80s albums released by RCA Legacy- more info here. They were originally to be dualdiscs but are now just to be single sided audio only, which is a shame.
Tracklisting for the cd:
1 C30, C60, C90, Go
2 Aphrodisiac
3 I Want Candy
4 Do You Wanna Hold Me?
5 (I'm A) TV Savage
6 Go Wild In The Country
7 See Jungle! (Jungle Boy)
8 Baby, Oh No (Digitally Remastered 1993)
9 Louis Quatorze
10 Cowboy
11 W.O.R.K. (N.O. Nah, No No My Daddy Don't)
12 Mile High Club
13 Elimination Dancing
14 What's The Time (Hey Buddy)

EMI Digital Download Bow Wow Wow Girl Bites Dog: Your Digital Pet
EMI CATALOGUE NEW DIGITAL DOWNLOAD RELEASE
BOW WOW WOW
‘Girl Bites Dog: Your Digital Pet’
Release date: 28 August 2006
Proto-New Wave outfit Bow Wow Wow was the brainchild of punk impresario Malcolm McLaren, and was formed of some of the original members of Adam and the Ants.
The band was completed by a provocative teenager, Burmese Londoner named Annabella Lwin on vocals, who caused a sensation when she appeared naked on a Bow Wow Wow record sleeve aged 15. They also briefly included one Leiutenant Lush in their lineup, who would later become known as Boy George.
In 1980 the band's first single, 'C30, C60, C90... Go!' was released on EMI on cassette only. The cassette theme was continued with the EP that followed, 'Your Cassette Pet'.
Later in 1983, when Bow Wow Wow were enjoying some success Stateside, EMI forged an album together from the early recordings: the aptly named '12 Original Recordings' - the original 8 tracks from 'Your Cassette Pet' and the 2 tracks from the 'C30, C60, C90 Go' cassette single with the addition of the tracks 'Mile High Club' and an extended (disco) version of 'W.O.R.K.'
Six other tracks were added to this to create the 1993 CD 'Girl Bites Dog: Your Compact Disc Pet.'
This is the digital generation of that same collection.

Wolfmen Jackie Says EP review
You'll all have heard these songs on the myspace site or website. If you have, and especially if you haven't, you still need to own them on a piece of 10" vinyl or downloads. Why? Because they're GREAT songs!
These are the final studio mixes, not the demos that are available on the freeby sites.
Jackie Says- "Jackie Says hold on tight, Jackie says no need to fight"
This is a perfect single, a real grower with a great video to go with it, featuring Dave Whiteing as the barman (you remember him, he was the bloke in Stand and Deliver who gets robbed and then sentences Adam to hang!). Features excellent guitar playing from the man who we all know is London's best guitar player and man who was there when punk happened, Marco Pirroni, and Harmonica, bass and vocals from Chris Constantinou. Chris is a great singer, sometimes he sounds like Bowie, sometimes he sounds like Adam Ant, sometimes he sounds like the rocker he is!
All Nighter- another great pop song, this one is produced by ex Ant Chris 'Merrick' Hughes, featuring Mr Constantinou's harmonica playing and more Pirroni mastery on the guitar.
Needle in the Camel's Eye - this is my favourite, a fantastic cover, this one also features production by Chris Hughes who also drums.
I didn't know the original (Brian Eno), but i love this version and the original both now.
If You Talk Like That - Another stormer! If you're not convinced by now that this is a great band, then there's no hope for you, put your money away now!
Overall this is a great EP and showcases some bloody good songs, which in my opinion piss all over most bands around at the moment. Two old pro's show they have more than what it takes to write bloody good songs, and Marco at last is out of semi retirement and showing everyone what a fucking ace guitar player he always was frankly. No more waiting around for Adam, Marco is back again playing those ringing guitars and thank the Lord for that I say!
Let's hope we don't have to wait too long for an album!
Jackie says is released on August 14th 2006 by Damaged Goods

Desperate But Not Serious (And another Chris Constantino Interview)
Who wrote what with Desperate but not Serious?
It was based on an old demo called "Manzanera" which was inspired by the intro to Prairie Rose by Roxy Music, I can't remember who came up with what.
You don't like Why Do Girls Like Horses do you?
Why?
I never said I didn't like it, I thought it was ok
Desperate didn't do that well in the charts- why do you think this was?
Coz it wasn't really a single
Desperate -was it basically an album track that was released as a single?
yes.
Why was Place in the Country released as a single in America?
I never knew it was.
Another storyboarded video for this too- did you enjoy the roles Adam gave you in the videos?
I hate doing videos, they are boring and cost so much FUCKING MONEY!!!!
MY MONEY!!!!
I hate the the fact that one video costs way more than an album to make,
if you were me you would look just as pissed off,it costs me vast amounts of money to do something I HATE!
So there we have it!
Chris Constantino has done another interview, this time for Cartrouble's website, here.
